HIRONORI TERAMOTO, BS Research Technician III

Hironori Teramoto, BS, joined the Developing Brain Institute (DBI) as a Research Technician III in January 2023. Hironori actively contributes to a multidisciplinary research team that is dedicated to collecting and analyzing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data from diverse fetal, neonatal and preterm MRI studies.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Maryland (UMD), College Park. Following graduation, Hironori gained experience as an emergency department scribe at Washington Adventist Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he shadowed physicians and documented patient encounters for them. commitment to conducting research by serving as a research assistant at UMD as well as a research specialist at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. In these respective roles, he explored topics in bacteriology and foodborne pathogens, and brain ischemia and hemorrhagic shock, presenting him with numerous opportunities to expand his knowledge of different topics in science as well as stages in the research process.

Hironori has a profound fascination for medicine, driven by his desire to integrate his clinical and research experiences. His primary objective at DBI is to contribute to the advancement of patient care through the seamless integration of technology, particularly MRI. He is most excited by the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from an accomplished team of researchers, coordinators and radiology staff.
