Joycelyn Malosa, B.S., M.A. Clinical research coordinator

Joycelyn Malosa, B.S., M.A., is a North Carolina native with family roots in the Democratic Republic of the Congo who joined the Developing Brain Institute in June 2024 as a clinical research coordinator for the Mommy&Me study. Joycelyn graduated from George Mason University with a B.S. in Neuroscience. She recently completed a master’s degree in Applied Psychology with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Psychology from The Chicago School. Joycelyn’s thesis project focused on improving mental health outcomes for child and adolescent refugees. As an undergraduate, Joycelyn was a research assistant for the Department of Psychology and Krasnow Institute of Neuroscience at George Mason University. In previous roles, she worked with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and in inpatient mental health clinics. Joycelyn hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in

Neuroscience and conducting research related to child psychiatry and mental health. Joycelyn is incredibly excited to be a part of Mommy&Me, a research project that prioritizes Black maternal mental health, providing mothers with the necessary resources they deserve.
