Folasade Ilori, BS, Ph.D. T32 Research postdoctoral fellow
Folasade Ilori, BS, Ph.D., joined the Developing Brain Institute (DBI) in October 2023 as a T32 research postdoctoral fellow. Folasade’s primary research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of how psychological distress like stress, anxiety and depression affect long-term health outcomes and neurodevelopment. Specifically, she investigates the impact of maternal exposure to childhood adversity on fetal and neonatal brain development. Before joining DBI, Folasade attained her doctorate in Neuropsychology from Howard University. Her dissertation focused on the neurobiological mechanism in the relationship between childhood adversity and traits of anxiety and depression.
