Theiline T. Gborkorquellie, M.D., MHS, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician who provides services to children and families at Children’s National THEARC, which is part of the Goldberg Center for Community Pediatric Health at Children’s National Hospital. In early 2022, Dr. Gborkorquellie began serving as a Pediatric Consultant for the DC-wide Community Network for Mother-Baby Wellness, leading the development of a robust, mental-health focused program that follows underserved mothers and babies from the time infants are born until 3 years of age. collaboratively with the Clark Parent & Child Network Prenatal-Neonatal Pillar, she helps to bring mental health services and care coordination to underserved postpartum women and families via utilization of space at THEARC, located in the Ward 8 neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C.

In her role as Pediatric Consultant, Dr. Gborkorquellie also helps to demonstrate and document the need for postpartum mental health services and care coordination for underserved women, especially in Wards 7 and 8. She is an assistant professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences (GW SMHS) and an affiliate faculty member at the Child Health Advocacy Institute. Dr. Gborkorquellie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health Studies with a concentration in Natural Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University, her Master of Health Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and her Medical Doctorate at GW SMHS. She completed pediatric training at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Gborkorquellie is passionate about mental health advocacy and strives to create a culture of preventive care in under-resourced communities, empowering children and families so they no longer suffer needlessly.
