Tameka T. Watson, M.D. Neonatal-perinatal medicine fellow

Tameka T. Watson, M.D., joined Children’s National Hospital as a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellow in July 2021, and Dr. Watson has collaborated with the Developing Brain Institute on research since 2021. She became interested in neonatal nutrition while she was a medical student at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Under the mentorship of Drs. Catherine Limperopoulos, Nickie Andescavage, Sudeepta Basu and Katherine Ottolini, Dr. Watson has continued her interest in neonatal nutrition through pursuing research focused on neonatal nutrition using magnetic resonance imaging techniques to evaluate the effects of nutrition on brain growth and development in infants born preterm.
