Bridget Nelson, BS Clinical Research Coordinator
Bridget Nelson, BS, originally from South Florida, in June 2024 joined the Developing Brain Institute as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the neonatal intensive care unit team. Bridget recently graduated from the University of Virginia where she studied Biology with a minor in Environmental Science. As an undergraduate, she worked on several studies with the Gynecologic Oncology Clinical Research Team at UVA Health, contributing significantly to a study researching a tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte therapy to fight advanced cervical cancers. Bridget’s focus on women’s health extends to her research on marine natural products as Triple Negative Breast Cancer therapeutics at Florida Atlantic University.
She is passionate about connecting the future of medicine with environmental sustainability. Bridget discovered her love of working with kids while volunteering to lead hospital tours for elementary school students in Charlottesville, VA. Her previous research, clinical and volunteering experiences have led her to Children’s National Hospital where she is excited to contribute to the advancement of neonatal medicine.
