GEMYTA ROBINSON, BA, MSW, LICSW, LCSW-C Perinatal Behavioral Health Specialist
Gemyta Robinson, BA, MSW, LICSW, LCSW-C, has provided clinical services at Children’s National Hospital since 2016. Gemyta joined our team in March 2022 as a Perinatal Behavioral Health Specialist within the Clark Parent & Child Network Prenatal-Neonatal Pillar’s DC Mother-Baby Wellness program. She is an alumna of Temple University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Spanish Language/Linguistics. She is also a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Social Work where she earned her master’s degree in Social Work. Gemyta is licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Worker for Counseling in Maryland and Washington, D.C. She has extensive experience working with adults,
children and families in a variety of mental health settings, which include emergency crisis, and inpatient and outpatient clinic care. She is experienced with implementing evidence-based treatment modalities to expecting and postpartum mothers in the private practice setting and has provided an array of services in the community to families who face complex psychosocial challenges.
Prior to joining the Clark Parent & Child Network, Gemyta provided therapy services to children and families in Children’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Department. She understands the need for perinatal mental health care and provides a supportive environment to assist mothers with overcoming personal and systemic barriers to having a healthy birthing process. Gemyta looks forward to being impactful in improving maternal mental health and, in the process, strengthening infants’ brain development during early childhood.
