Géraldine Pluviose, BA, MBA Director of Operations

Géraldine Pluviose, BA, MBA, joined the Developing Brain Institute (DBI) in 2012. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Newbury College in Brookline, Massachusetts, and earned her Master of Business Administration from University of Maryland. Géraldine was promoted to DBI Director of Operations in 2022. She provides day-to-day leadership to ensure that DBI’s operations, finance and information technology are closely coordinated and operate effectively. other key stakeholders on behalf of the organization. She effectively and diplomatically manages and leverages relationships, models the organization’s core values and demonstrates functional expertise and a deep commitment to Children’s mission. In addition, Géraldine analyzes internal procedures and designs; implements internal control procedures; maintains accounting for all grant funding; and ensures compliance with funders’ reporting requirements.

She works directly with leaders of DBI and the Center for Prenatal, Neonatal & Maternal Health Research on numerous, ongoing projects. Géraldine manages all administrative and strategic planning aspects of the program and is also responsible for the ongoing daily operational matters of clinical research-related business and research study facilitation. Géraldine develops and effectively manages program timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables. She is a driving influence in planning, directing, implementing and managing projects, including Special Purpose Funds, grants, operational budgets and all aspects of DBI’s various studies. Additionally, Géraldine manages all facets of national and international recruitment. Under her leadership, DBI’s summer internship program has expanded to include high school students interested in research. Géraldine is proud to have created the Brain, Research, Innovation, Technology and Engineering (BRITE) Scholar Summer Internship Program in collaboration with the DBI team to promote diversity in the next generation of researchers.

Géraldine completed the McKinsey & Company’s Management Accelerator program, part of the Black Leadership Academy, in March 2024. This program is designed to enable high-performing professionals to build a toolkit for enhancing adaptability and resilience, sharpening problem solving for impact, and helping their organizations set and execute business strategy.
