MARIA Mooney, MPH Program Coordinator

Maria Mooney, MPH, joined the Developing Brain Institute in August 2023 as a Program Coordinator. Maria graduated with her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health from the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health. In 2020, she spent one year serving with AmeriCorps as a Program Navigator assisting immigrants and refugees in Pittsburgh access social and health resources. While earning her bachelor's degree at the University of Pittsburgh, Maria worked as a Research Assistant at Magee-Womens Research Institute on several projects surrounding pregnant and postpartum women with Opioid Use Disorder. Her experiences and education sparked her passion to better understand the relationship between life experiences and health outcomes.
