SIOBHAN K. BURKE, M.D. Board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist
Siobhan K. Burke, M.D., is a board-certified OB-GYN who serves as Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Unity Health Care where she works with a team to provide comprehensive pregnancy and gynecologic care for women living in the District. Dr. Burke has been with Unity since 2012 and has more than 10 years of clinical experience working with women in underserved and low-resource settings. She is affiliated with Howard University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. As a healthcare provider, Dr. Burke is very invested in building a better perinatal health system in Washington, D.C., and in supporting the mental health needs of low-resourced women of color currently facing staggering racial
inequalities. She received her medical degree at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California and completed residency at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center.
Dr. Burke has worked closely with the Developing Brain Institute in recent years on a number of IRB-approved studies that focus on prenatal and postpartum mental health and that support maternal and fetal wellness. That research collaboration includes recruiting patients for Project RESCUE, a recent study evaluating the effect of targeted virtual stress-reduction interventions aimed at reducing toxic levels of maternal psychological distress during the COVID-19 pandemic. She serves as Unity Health Care’s recruiting site PI for the Mommy&Me study.
