National Maternal Mental Health Accelerator Launches

On Oct. 21, 2026 dozens of local, regional and national organizations, including the Developing Brain Institute, came together virtually to launch the National Maternal Mental Health Accelerator. The Accelerator comprises 140+ member organizations, including leaders across healthcare, mental health, policy, advocacy, research, philanthropy and community organizations united by the shared goal of transforming systems that determine whether mothers get needed mental health care. Too often, well-meaning organizations work in silos even as they aim to achieve the same goals.

As convener, the Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health assembles this diverse community to move beyond awareness and to accelerate action, advancing solutions that expand access to care, strengthen postpartum support, improve affordability and address the policy and workforce gaps that leave too many mothers behind.
