Play, Learning Activities Yearning to Maximize Attachment Through Emotional Connection Strategies

Create strong, joyful bonds with baby!

PLAYMATES is here to support you. We designed PLAYMATES to help you and your little one connect more deeply while bringing more joy to caregiving. Over 11 to 14 weekly sessions, we aim to strengthen your relationship with baby and make caregiving more fulfilling. In addition to boosting your own well-being and your baby’s outcomes, we want to improve caregiving practices for other families.

Collage of happy family moments across generations.

Purpose

Parents whose medically fragile newborns are admitted to an intensive care unit may feel overwhelmed, may feel they have limited involvement in their baby’s care and may have difficulty visiting in person. PLAYMATES uses evidence-based interventions to strengthen caregiver and newborn emotional connections, restore joy to parenting and help the caregivers contribute meaningfully to their baby’s development while simultaneously attending to their own health as caregivers.
