AI analysis of registries identifies risk factors for perinatal stroke
Sarah Mulkey, M.D., Ph.D., a prenatal-neonatal neurologist at Children’s National Hospital, said the new study is “helpful” in identifying new risk factors for perinatal arterial ischemic stroke (PAIS) but added PAIS is so rare that it could be a good idea to conduct a similar AI study looking also for risk for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
