Anola J. Stage, M.D., IBCLC, joined Children’s National Hospital as a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellow in July 2023, and Dr. Stage has collaborated with the Developing Brain Institute on research since 2023. She became interested in neonatal nutrition as a resident at Children's Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia, where Dr. Stage researched the effects of various fortifications on neonatal growth. She additionally completed training to become a Certified Lactation Consultant. Under the mentorship of Drs. Nickie Andescavage, Sudeepta K. Basu and Katherine M.
