Mai Tram Vo, Ph.D. Research Associate
Mai Tram Vo, Ph.D. is a research associate who in November 2025 joined Dr. Yingshi Ouyang’s laboratory at the Developing Brain Institute at Children’s National. Dr. Vo’s research focuses on design of organoid models to understand inputs on placental development. She completed her doctoral degree at University of Ulsan in Korea, where she studied the role of Tristetraprolin in cancer. Dr. Vo then pursued postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, where she identified altered mitophagy mechanisms in Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus associated with cancer. Subsequently, Dr. Vo studied molecular mechanisms of anti-angiogenic therapeutics in cancer cells and endothelial cells at the National Institutes of Health.
