Facilitating Global Access to Advanced MRI

A research team at Children’s National Hospital led by Drs. Marius George Linguraru and Daniel A. Donoho is using artificial intelligence to sharpen images produced by an affordable, portable and commercially available magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine called the Hyperfine Swoop. “This technology could extend access to MRI imaging for around 5 billion people,” says Dr. Donoho, who has used the device on about 100 patients over three years.
